Under the chairmanship of the Speaker Mr. Iyad Samarrai, the COR held its 28th regular session on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. The session was to approve the first batch of candidates for the posts of ambassadors. The session commenced with recital of verses from the Holy Quran.

With deep sadness and sorrow the COR received the news of the death of the late Mr. (Qasim Alshlani) head of the Dawa party / Iraq organization, in a car accident on Sunday, 21/6/2009 in the province of Dhi Qar
